| PRVO’s Transportation Program is a rural transportation program that has been in operation since 1984. The agency has a transportation fleet of 66 vehicles and is dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and cost efficient transportation. PRVO provides transportation services to the general public, elderly, disabled and head start children in the following counties: Amite, Covington, Forrest, Jones, Lamar, Marion, Perry, Pike and Walthall. PRVO receives funding from the Mississippi Department of Transportation, through contracts, fare box revenue and funding from some of the local boards of supervisors. PRVO’s transportation budget for 2001-2002 fiscal year was $919,929.00. The agency traveled 1,023,357 miles and provided 260,510 units of service. Transportation services are Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Individuals interested in services should contract our transportation office by calling 601-736-6077. |
